Fitting to the culture at Berkeley, the individuals who make up the Cal basketball team are highly unique in their self expression. So we wanted to celebrate this through this “Cal Couture” fashion shoot.

We asked the student-athletes to present two different ensembles, both Cal related. One focusing on basketball, the other being whatever they want. We were hopeful that the concept would be embraced and they would run with it. And girl, did they!

These women are true professionals… in the amateur, collegiate student-athlete kind of way.

What I was seeking when we began this collaboration was an innovative method to give the outside world a glimpse into the day-to-day life of Cal Basketball. The finished product, our website Thisiscalbasketball.com , came out better than I ever imagined. Mollie McClure has a unique ability to listen to her clients’ vision, and bring the passion, emotion, and effort of college athletics to life through the visual mediums of photography and video. Her understanding of sport coupled with her creative mind made the process fun for our team and yielded a final product that is nothing short of stunning.
