We came into the shoot with three things: cue cards, markers, and a concept. We told the players to determine the direction and choreography of the shoot by answering this question: what does “outlast” mean to you?

They organized themselves by class, came up with their own messages and choreographed their moves. As we group we collaborated on the ending and then went straight to filming. The behind the scenes moments became as important to the story and message as the staged scenes.
